Time for one of our favorite hikes again, which we end with a beer from the concession - shack!
WE MEET: 7:30 am
At the parking lot of the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve on Espola Rd in Poway
(1170 F,G 3), bathrooms on the lot and on the way.
Trail starts out flat (20 minutes), then rises gently, then steeper to the dam, then mostly flat around the lake and down. Easy to moderate!
DURATION:
One to two hours, you can go back any time!
DIRECTIONS:
From I-15 take the Rancho Bernardo exit (east), it becomes Espola Rd. Go several miles, look for the Blue Sky parking lot, turning lane on your left (after Westling, Old Coach/ Bridlewood) around where Espola turns south.
Park wherever you can, the trail head is at the end of the lot.
Bring money for a cold drink at the almost end of the hike, at the concession stand, (including beer). We picnic on the shady hill, overlooking the lake.
